New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) After allegations that a Gujarat BJP MP was behind the killing of an RTI activist Amit Jethwa, Congress today said it was a serious issues and demanded thorough investigations to bring the guilty to book. "If allegations have been made that an RTI activist has been killed at the behest of a BJP MP, it is a serious issue. It should be thoroughly investigated and the guilty should be brought to book," party spokesman Manish Tewari said. He said lawlessness has prevailed in Gujarat for a long time and referred to the state Home Minister staying away from office for fear of being arrested by the CBI and the fake encounters in the state. The spokesman The father of deceased Amit Jethwa has alleged that BJP MP from Jundagadh Dinu Solanki could be behind his son''s killing. "I believe that Dinu Solanki is behind the killing of my son. He had many times threatened me also on phone," Bhikabhai Jethwa said in Ahmedabad. Amit, who had recently filed a public interest litigation (PIL) against illegal mining in Gir forest region in the High Court, was shot dead from close range by two unknown motorcycle-borne assailants last night when he was coming out from the office of his lawyer opposite the Gujarat High Court.
