Refined palmolein rises on good demand

Mumbai, July 21 (PTI) Refined palmolein prices continued to rise at the oils and oilseeds market here today due to increased buying from retailers coupled with higher Malaysian advices. Groundnut oil, other edible oil, however settled around previous levels in the absence of buying at higher levels. Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial also strengthened on the back of sustained industrial offtake. Linseed oil remained steady owing to lack of buying support. Meanwhile, castorseed futures declined on weak exports demand. In the edible oil section, refined palmolein moved up by Rs 4 per 10 kg to Rs 424 from overnight closing level of Rs 420, while groundnut oil held steady at Rs 850 per 10 kg. Turning to the non-edible section, castorseeds bold firmed up by Rs 35 per 100 kg to Rs 3,725 from Rs 3,690 and castoroil commercial gained by Rs 7 per 10 kg to Rs 775, as against Rs 768 yesterday. Linseed oil closed unaltered at Rs 525 per 10 kg. Moving to the futures section, castorseed August contract resumed higher at Rs 3,700, but later fell back of to close at Rs 3,669, as against Rs 3,684 previously, showing a modest fall of Rs 15 per tonne.
