Hyderabad, Jul 21 (PTI) "You are the master of your fate. If you are determined and work hard, you can achieve your goals". This was the message given to youth by Shah Faesal, the topper of Civil Services Exam 2009, the first Kashmiri to achieve the feat. "Shed feelings that you are being discriminated against, that you do not have adequate opportunities, that you don''t have the right environment and facilities," he said. The first Kashmiri Muslim to top the country''s most prestigious exam, he had a word of advise for the youth of the state. "For Kashmiri people as well, the message is more or less the same. There are opportunities for you all over the country. You have to work hard. Search for your opportunities and be the best and definitely you will get success one day." The 27-year-old doctor from Srinagar was speaking at a media interaction organised by the Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ) here today. Regretting the prevailing "pathetic" situation in militancy-hit Kashmir, he expressed confidence that the government would find a mechanism to address the problem. "I wish the situation changes very soon.I am sure the government will find a mechanism to address the problems and grievances of the youth," Faesal said. "Though the situation in Kashmir is such that it will affect the education, emotional and psychological development of youth, youngsters need not be disheartened," he added. PTI SJR RSY.
